The leader of the Rwandan Patriotic Front, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda has said he will not present as candidate during the next presidential election. He said his aim was to put Rwanda on the rail to emergence and that he will be handing back power to Rwandans whom he believes can do better than him.
The 62 years old Rebel leader that fought for the end of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide which claimed over 800,000 lives has been in power since 2000 and is currently serving a third term in office after a constitutional amendment that allowed him to run again for elections in 2017.
